Michelle Cintrón, DO is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has the further distinction of a Certificate of Added Qualification and fellowship-training in Sports Medicine. She is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and returned home to the Lehigh Valley in 2018 to practice at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists. Dr. Cintrón practiced for several years in Sports Medicine in Georgia, where she served as a Team Physician for several colleges and area high schools, the Augusta Ballet, and the Augusta Green Jackets professional baseball team. She then went on to practice as a Sports and Spine Interventionalist in Florida, before happily returning to the Lehigh Valley community in which she was raised and where her dreams of becoming a physician were fostered in the first place.
Dr. Cintrón finds the greatest satisfaction from helping her patients return to the activities they enjoy and partnering with them in their goal of maintaining and restoring full function. She routinely treats an array of musculoskeletal injuries including: back pain, neck pain, knee and hip pain, and shoulder pain. As a result of her training and professional medical experience, she is well equipped to provide a unique perspective in treating a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
Her goal is to establish a comprehensive plan that allows for maximum improvement in the least invasive way. Whether treating an athletic injury or treating back pain, her approach is to improve the patient’s quality of life and to minimize their pain in the recovery process. Ultimately, she strives to expose her patients to non-surgical treatment options, such as therapy, injections, or conservative oral medications, that facilitate the patient’s efforts in regaining function and maximizing their healing process.
On a more personal level, Dr. Cintrón is bilingual in Spanish. In her free time, she thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, outdoor activities, and dance. She has even made efforts to combine her recreational interests with her career by seeking further education in Performing Arts Medicine and Adaptive Sports Medicine.
